Our people have worked with Citibank over a number of years, most recently redeveloping their strategy in Saudi Arabia. We needed to establish the relevance of promoting an American brand in an evolving socio-political environment. Our recommendation to change the name in favour of a locally used nickname was adopted and the Citigroup endorsement was reduced.
